IBI Group to develop 2015 Pan Am Games master plan
DateApril 11, 2013
TORONTO – IBI Group has been awarded the contract to develop the Transportation Master Plan for the 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games to be held in Toronto.
The contract is a testament to IBI Group’s ability to draw on “Global Intelligence and Local Knowledge”. The London, UK, office offered in-depth Games intelligence and the Toronto office provided extensive local knowledge and long-standing relationships with the provincial transportation ministry and the municipalities.
“This is a very exciting opportunity for IBI Group,” said Andrea Lendak, IBI Group Associate and project manager. “It allows us to leverage our London 2012 experience and our understanding of the Greater Golden Horseshoe, and it enables our different offices and functional areas to work more closely together. We hope that this work will lead to operations planning and implementation for the Games.”
The master plan will be a resource document for planning and operations activities for Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation, the Games organizing committee, and all participating municipalities. It will outline principles, guidelines, strategies, and actions for promoting safe, efficient, and reliable transportation for the Games.
The Games will take place at various venues in 15 municipalities across the region, requiring well designed and well executed integration, coordination, and collaboration among transportation partners to ensure success.
