PORTLAND, OR – The Eugene (Oregon) School Board has selected DOWA – IBI Group Architects to design two new elementary schools for the Eugene School District.

The firm will join forces with PIVOT Architecture to design the new Howard and River Road Elementary Schools.

The schools’ project budgets are $32 million for Howard Elementary School and $24 million for River Road Elementary School, and are part of a four-school replacement project financed by a major bond measure approved by voters in May.

The existing schools will be demolished as part of the project. The school district hopes to have all the schools completed by fall 2017. Howard Elementary could be completed by fall 2015, with construction on that school likely to start next summer.

DOWA – IBI Group Architects has done earlier work for the Eugene School District, including the Cesar Chavez Elementary School (SHOWN IN PHOTO ABOVE), Bertha Holt Elementary School and the science addition at South Eugene High School.
