BEIJING – IBI Group China has won one of China’s most prestigious design awards for its architectural work in China.

The firm won one of six Most Innovative Design Firms awards co-sponsored by the China Real Estate Association, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and China Construction News.

IBI Group China was the only international design firm among the six winners. The awards were presented last month at the Jingxi Hotel in Beijing.

An example of IBI Group’s innovative work in China is the DingXiang office building in the Pudong district of Shanghai. The mixed-use building exemplifies contemporary architectural innovation through state-of-the-art technology, sustainable design (LEED® Silver), and integrated open green spaces.

“Sustainable design innovation is a major trend in China,” said Daniel Arbour, IBI Group’s operating director for China. “It’s heavily promoted by the Chinese government and the property industry. This award is a great recognition of our consistent exploration of new design, and means the potential value of innovative design will be much more appreciated in many booming cities in China.”
