DALLAS – A Bay-IBI Group school project in Houston has won an honourable mention in a regional International Interior Design Association (IIDA) competition.

The school, Housman Elementary, was named in the Institutional/Education category by the Texas-Oklahoma chapter of the IIDA. The IIDA awards recognize achievement in interior design by honoring the creativity and innovation of the best Texas and Oklahoma designers.

The Bay-IBI Group team working on the Housman project included Calvin Powitzky, Patrick Zadow, Sylvia Hajo, Patrick Reid, and Rutu Sathia of the Houston, Texas, studio.

“Playful primary colors inspired by a box of crayons and familiar to young students are used throughout the facility,” noted Sylvia Hajo, Associate, Interior Designer, Bay-IBI Group.

The awards jury commented that “the continuity of design from the exterior to the interior is exquisite.”
