Our Kitchener and Waterloo offices move to new location
DateJanuary 27, 2014
IBI Group is pleased to announce they have combined their Kitchener and Waterloo offices in a new location at 410 Albert Street, Waterloo Technology Campus, effective today.
The new space will help IBI Group expand the practice, which focuses on municipal, transportation engineering, land-use planning, and landscape architecture. “We could not combine in either the Kitchener or Waterloo office and still have the ability to grow in this market,” said Trevor McIntyre, a Director of IBI Group.
IBI Group has completed several projects in the Waterloo region recently, including the King Street reconstruction (which won national design awards), Needles Hall at the University of Waterloo, the Grand River Flats subdivision, and Lexington Road improvements. IBI Group will potentially be part of the preliminary design for the upcoming Waterloo LRT project as well.
“The region is expected to grow in population by nearly 50% over the next 17 years,” said John Perks, an Associate Director in the Waterloo office. “The proposed LRT will help facilitate this growth and drive the trend to intensification of the downtown areas.”
“As we enter 2014, we are very excited for the future of the Region of Waterloo,” said Mr. Perks. “We are fortunate to live and work in such a vibrant and prosperous area. The diversity of businesses, including high-tech, insurance, service, and manufacturing, and the world-recognized higher education facilities, all make the Waterloo region a unique and attractive area to live and work.“
