Utah parking structure wins concrete award

IBI Group has won a 2014 Excellence in Concrete Award for their work on a parking structure in Draper, Utah

SALT LAKE CITY – IBI Group has won a 2014 Excellence in Concrete Award for their work on the Draper Utah Transit Authority (UTA) Parking Structure in Draper, Utah, 20 miles south of Salt Lake City.

As part of the Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction design/build team, IBI Group provided architectural design and civil engineering services for the 1000-stall parking structure at the Draper Station of the new FrontRunner commuter rail line.

The first phase included 600 parking stalls, the UTA bus drop off zone, a passenger drop-off area, and UTA staff restroom facilities. It also included the design of the platform/transition area between the rail platform and the parking/bus drop off zones. The second phase will involve the construction of the remaining 400 stalls that were included in the overall design.

The award is presented by the Intermountain Chapter of the American Concrete Institute.
