LOS ANGELES – IBI Group’s First Last Mile Strategic Plan prepared for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) has picked up two prestigious awards.

The plan won the Southern California Association of Governments 2014 President’s Award, the premier sustainability award given by the agency every year in the Southern California region. The agency made a short video as part of their annual general assembly.

The project also won an American Planning Association LA Award for Planning Best Practice, and will be featured at their annual award ceremony on June 12th.

“Metro is undertaking one of North America’s largest public transportation expansion programs,” said Dylan Jones, the IBI Group project manager. “Our new Pathways concept, proposed throughout Los Angeles County, will extend the reach of transit by the use of rationally designed active transportation networks. The effort supports regional 21st century mobility, human health, and economic sustainability while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.”
