GLASGOW – IBI Group has won the Best Paper Award at the Scottish Transport Applications and Research (STAR) Conference in Glasgow for the paper “E-Paper Public Transport Information System” jointly authored by IBI’s Graeme Scott, Colin Wilson, and Gareth Tyler.

STAR is a leading annual event which focuses on disseminating and debating innovation in transport, with a large attendance from throughout the sector in Scotland.

The paper covered IBI’s innovative public transport information display unit using e-paper technology (similar to the Kobo and Kindle readers), currently being test by Centro (West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive).

The solution provides the platform for delivering an extensive real-time system to provide a much broader range of information across many platforms, supporting greater user convenience and mobility as well as delivering efficiencies, cost savings, and reduced carbon emissions.

The trophy was awarded to Graeme on behalf of Colin and Gareth by Bailie Allan Stewart, the Deputy Lord Provost of Glasgow.
