HOUSTON – IBI Group’s San Jacinto College Allied Health and Science facility at North Campus has won an Apex 11 Award from the Houston Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America.

The award is in the Education over $10 million category.

San Jacinto College, in southeast Houston, has more than 30,000 students. The North Campus Allied Health and Science facility is a LEED Silver building with multiple lecture and lab spaces; the specialty spaces – full EMT suite, intensive care simulation suite, hospital ward, and pharmacy suite – help prepare students for real-world experiences after graduation.

The facility integrates technology with collaboration spaces to encourage a “learn anytime, anywhere” environment that is flexible and competitive.

IBI Group’s work on the project, completed in 2012, included architecture, interior design, master planning, programming, and furniture, fixtures and equipment services.

The biennial APEX Awards honor member firms for their excellence in construction, their contributions to the community, and their demonstrated commitment to skill, integrity, and responsibility.
