William Sanabria has over 24 years of experience in the management of transportation design and construction projects in the areas of highways, freeways, arterial roads and urban streets, as well as, storm and sanitary sewers. His design work includes all aspects of highway and municipal infrastructure, including Class Environmental Assessments, roadway, drainage, roadside protection, utility coordination, drafting and contract documentation. William has a sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and applicable codes and standards, including York Region Design Standards and Guidelines and Ontario Provincial Standards. He is fluent in both English and Spanish and is a member of the Transportation Association of Canada Geometric Design Standing Committee.

We have passed the point where half of the world's population is living in cities. If we as planners and designers want to continue to fight urban sprawl, then we need to focus on maintaining a high quality of green infrastructure in our cities and in particular around transit. The public realm, including parks, streets, shared streets and public plazas need to be designed to maximize the human experience. How we animate those spaces, and manage them with a mix of good design and technology will dictate the quality of life in our future cities.

Trevor McIntyre is Global Director, Placemaking. He is responsible for leading the landscape architecture and urban design practices across the firm. Trevor is a landscape architect and member of the Canadian Society of Landscape Architecture and the American Society of Landscape Architecture. Trevor has been a leading planner, landscape architect, and urban designer for more than 20 years, with projects in Canada, USA, Europe, the Middle East, South America, and Asia. He leads the Toronto design practice in community planning and design, master planning, and landscape architecture. He has a Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph.

During Mat’s 17 years with the firm he has enjoyed a diverse and extensive collection of projects. A recent effort has been the new Hockinson Middle School, an innovative public school in Southwestern Washington. He worked collaboratively with the contractor to bring it to completion, while being an advocate for key design concepts. Mat takes great care in all facets of the design process, applying a critical eye throughout every stage of a project. He is a valuable member of any team, willing to handle any task asked of him in order to adhere to project schedule and budget without compromising on design quality and intent. Providing clients with a final product that satisfies and exceeds their vision is what inspires Mat. He was a key player in the modernization projects for North Santiam School District that involved upgrades to existing schools, and is project architect for Tigard-Tualatin School District’s Twality Middle School.

As Director, Partnerships, Gerry will take a leadership role in the strategic growth of IBI services to governments and the private sector. He brings unique and extensive experience in transportation, ranging from strategic planning, through to the delivery of major programs, and covering design, construction, operations, legislation and ITS services. Gerry joined IBI from Metrolinx, where he served as Executive Vice President, Program Management. In this role, he ensured that delivery teams had consistent project controls, reporting requirements, resources and management systems to successfully deliver the: Capital Program, including the GO Transit expansion Toronto subway projects Hurontario LRT in Mississauga/Brampton Toronto’s Finch West and Eglinton Crosstown LRT He earned a degree in Civil Engineering from Queens University, which led him to a career at the Ontario Ministry of Transportation in roles of increasing responsibility. These included Chief Engineer/Executive Director and Assistant Deputy Minister, Provincial Highways Management, a role he held until his departure in 2016. Gerry is currently President of the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Foundation. Gerry held various roles within TAC, including President from 2014 to 2016 and was a past Chair of the Chief Engineers Council.

Tomer Ganor

Tomer Ganor is the business operations manager for IBI’s International region, and the Tel Aviv Office Lead. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Master of Business Administration with 15 years of financial experience, specializing in increasing the efficiency of companies. During his career, Tomer has been involved in IPOs, investments, operational management, strategic consulting and financial modeling. Tomer joined IBI Group in 2016 and has been responsible for the reorganization of the Tel Aviv office to support the commercial management of the NTA Red Line Tel Aviv LRT project. In addition, he served as the Regional Head of Finance, where he supported the implementation of corporate working standards across IBI’s International region offices. Previously, Tomer was a senior management and strategic consultant at KPMG for three years, and served as a controller and CFO in a medical device company for four years.

Richard Mazuch is an architect and designer who gains great satisfaction from translating holistic ideas into radical but pragmatic solutions. An authority on healthcare, Richard provides profound insight into designing for global trends, patient groups and clinical provision – informing key decisions throughout the architectural process. Richard has worked on healthcare projects in Italy, Hong Kong, Brazil, Oman, UAE, and more recently Australia. He has been elected as a World Architecture Jury member, as well as being a University lecturer/examiner and speaker at the International Conferences. Richard has strong relations with key health bodies. He has worked extensively with the NHS contributing to Health Building Notes, Health Technical Memorandum, and their ‘therapeutic environment’ website feature entitled “Slight Sensitive Design and Sound Sensitive Design” enabling designs to build evidence-based healthcare environments. Richard is a founder and champion of IBI TH!NK. An advocate of evidence-based design, Richard creates innovations that positively impact the psychology and physiology of patient groups. Sense Sensitive Design, Emotional Mapping, the Design Prescription and the hPod are a few of the models that Richard has successfully pioneered. This has led to him co-authoring two new NHS guidelines for ‘Evidence-based Design Healthcare Environments’. Richard is a product designer. In collaboration with manufacturers, he creates interventions, such as the BedPod, to support and improve patient care. Richard works frequently with the NHS and DOH Expert Working Groups and Reference Groups helping to develop new Healthcare Strategies and Guidelines. More recently he has co-authored three key Paediatric Guideline documents entitled: ‘Hospital Accommodation for children and young peopleHBN 23’, ‘Friendly healthcare environments for children and young people’ and ‘Mental Health faculties for children and young people’. Richard was also an active member and contributor to the Expert Reference Group responsible for ‘Facilities for Maternity Care’ HBN21. He was a key contributor to ‘The Children’s National Service Framework’ an NHS and Department of Health document with evaluation process and recommendations Richard made early contributions and document reviews of ‘Creating a Better Health Environment’ an Audit Took Kit by The National Childbirth Trust in 2003. In education, Richard is translating his work in healthcare paediatrics to benefit teachers and students. Working alongside University partners, he is pioneering the development of an ‘optimal learning environment’, improving motivation, behaviour and concentration amongst pupils, especially those with special educational needs.
