We are building the cities of today and planning the cities of tomorrow … on five continents.
Our expertise spans urban design and planning, building and landscape architecture, engineering, advanced transportation management and traffic systems, real estate analysis, communications specializations, and software development.
We have organized these services into three streams – Intelligence, Buildings and Infrastructure – to ensure a holistic approach to creating innovative, responsive, and intelligent solutions for our clients in both the public and private sectors. The collaborative nature of our practice allows the firm to effectively address the complexities inherent in the development of sustainable environments.
Since our founding in 1974, IBI Group has grown both organically and through strategic acquisitions. Today we have 80 offices located around the world, employing more than 2,700 professionals and support staff. We are the fourth largest architectural firm in the world, and more than 300 of our staff architects, planners, designers, and engineers are LEED accredited.
IBI Group’s offices work together as global “virtual studios,” using a variety of collaborative technologies including video conferencing, intranet portals and computer networks, enabling efficient communication among team members regardless of their physical location. This system enables the firm to commit the best and most appropriate staff to each project and use all resources around the clock – and around the world.
Sustainability is best defined as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.
IBI Group has met this definition by balancing the three pillars of sustainability: the social, environmental, and economic spheres of influence.
We design buildings that will endure. Exteriors and interiors take advantage of local, renewable building materials at every opportunity. Our core business principles and the work IBI Group engages in reflects our commitment to sustainability.
We design LEED Gold buildings, create transit-oriented communities, and encourage sustainable practices within our own operations. We continually engage clients, employees, and the public in a positive and creative manner to meet the challenge of comprehensive environmental responsibility.
Public Private Partnerships/Private Finance Initiatives (P3/PFI)
IBI Group serves as a bridge between private and public organizations, helping each to realize their visions and goals using alternative procurement models.
Our integrated design teams bring together highly skilled and experienced master planners, architects, transportation and civil engineers, and landscape architects who collaborate throughout each stage of the projects we undertake. Our proven approach and collaborative structure result in a seamless process from conception to realization, allowing for open dialogue and creating opportunities for innovative design solutions.
We create partnering relationships that draw upon each contributor’s strengths and expertise and ensure that the necessary risks, resources, and rewards are well managed.
