Sustainability

Using an integrated approach, IBI Group professionals collaborate with clients, partners and public stakeholders to ensure that their sustainability objectives are achieved. In our Facilities Group, for example, IBI Group is committed to design buildings that will endure, utilizing building materials appropriate to the local environment and reflective of renewable resources. All suppliers are selected based on their approach to renewable resources and a commitment to sustainability.

LEED

IBI Group consistently incorporates LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System® criteria as a guideline in our building design projects. At the outset of every project we conduct a LEED audit and conform to sustainable design principles, whether or not the client chooses to obtain certification.

Recently, IBI Group achieved a significant milestone in sustainable design. The BC Cancer Research Centre, an IBI Group project in joint venture with Henriquez Partners Architects, achieved LEED Canada GOLD Certification. This represents the first laboratory or research facility to earn the GOLD certification under the LEED Canada guidelines.

The following IBI Group projects are LEED registered and exemplify the successful integration of sustainability principles:
