Pearson International Airport – New Terminal 1

Support Office / Chapel / Cafeteria and Distinguished Visitor Lounges
Toronto, Ontario
262,500 sq.ft.

Working with the Architectural partnership of SOM and Moshe Safdie on the new Terminal 1 building at Toronto’s Pearson Airport was both a complex and unique experience. Interior programs required very detailed integration with the buildings immense scale and timeless Architectural design. Support Agency Offices and a Staff Cafeteria were required in the main Terminal building for all of the in house needs. Public spaces such as a non denominational Chapel were developed along with Departure Lounge design and custom seating program.

Specialty Areas such as Distinguished Visitor’s lounges were developed to provide self contained Boutique suites for Visiting Dignitaries and Heads of State. These spaces acted as trans border Lounges when traveling to either Domestic or International Destinations and are detailed in materials that correspond to this experience.
