Neil Lewin is the Deputy Regional Director for the UK & Ireland, whose primary focus is developing the Living+ brand in the UK, which includes IBI Group’s work in the residential, high density mixed use and commercial sub-sectors. Neil also leads the UK infrastructure team comprising urban designers, planners and landscape architects. Neil is an architect and member of the Royal Institute of British Architects. He has more than 25 years of experience in his field and since joining the IBI Group in 2009, he has lead complex project teams in both the private and public sectors. He has worked hard to successfully collaborate a spectrum of skills within the practice, including architecture, urban regeneration and masterplanning to ensure IBI Group?s clients continually receive a comprehensive, high quality service. Neil?s role includes assisting the Regional Director to develop the structure and growth of the business, improving the design quality, depth of clients and profitability.

Jonathan Steel serves as the Operations Director for our Portland office. Jonathan is an educational architect with over 15 years of experience in the design and construction of major K-12 and higher education facilities. He has worked with our global education team for over ten years. Jonathan has designed buildings for some of the most prestigious educational institutions globally, including three projects for Oxford University. He brings strong experience in business and personnel management to our Portland team, having built successful practices on both sides of the Atlantic during his career. He is the current President of the Alberta Chapter of A4LE and has presented at conferences for the past several years.

He has prepared numerous policy reviews, land use investigations, highest and best use analyses, market/financial analyses, site plans, district/master plans and land disposition strategies on behalf of public, institutional and private sector clients. He has been the Project Director or Project Manager for a range of complex real estate and master planning projects involving lands throughout Canada. As a result of Jay’s practical knowledge of the planning process and his excellent working relationships with staff at all levels of government, he has obtained timely planning approvals and successfully negotiated conditions and partnerships for small and large-scale residential developments, commercial, office, institutional and industrial projects.

Tom Bacus, a Director in Salt Lake City, UT brings over 20 years of experience in planning and civil engineering to the IBI team. During his career, he has successfully delivered numerous projects including work on tech campuses, large planned communities and light rail transit projects. His experience includes project work in transit corridors, transit oriented development, integrated water systems, streetscape design, parks, open space and trail design, site civil design, utility infrastructure, development entitlements, permitting, cost estimating and feasibility analysis.

In addition to planning and design work, Tom has done significant public policy work around transit and sustainability, including the development of green infrastructure standards for the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO), regional air quality guidelines at the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, transit funding initiatives in Dallas, Denver and Salt Lake City, implementation of regional bike sharing in Salt Lake City, and public/private/NGO coalition building around air quality and smart growth initiatives.

Tony Burley is the US Healthcare+ Lead and has managed multiple design and project teams for all scales of healthcare and science projects. His experience spans new build, refurbishment and strategic planning of facilities, in roles as both designer and client representative and covers Traditional, Design and Build, Framework and AFP/P3 procurement. The multiple perspectives from this rounded experience provides Tony with a real understanding of the opportunities and challenges that face healthcare facilities, and fuels a passion for ongoing innovation to provide a safer, more efficient and pleasant patient experience. Tony is an excellent communicator and regular conference speaker, who enjoys building strong relationships with clients, users and wider stakeholder groups.

Tony supports IBI THiNK and an evidence-based approach to design, which has included working on joint projects with EDB guru Professor Roger S Ulrich, formerly of Texas A&M University.

Dale Richmond

As an Independent Director and Chair of the Board of Directors for IBI Group, Dale Richmond is a member of the Audit Committee and Chair of the Governance, and Compensation Committee.Mr. Richmond is currently the Chair of The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships. He has participated on a number of corporate boards and has served the community as past Chair of The Toronto Board of Trade, The Canadian Urban Institute and Humber College.

From 1993 to 2003, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System. Prior to 1993, Mr. Richmond served with the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto for 17 years, where he held various positions including Chief Administrative Officer (for a period of eight years), Deputy Commissioner of Transportation, and Commissioner of Management and Computer Services. He also held various public sector positions in Halifax, Calgary and Sudbury.

Mr. Richmond received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mount Allison University, a Master of Arts (Economics) degree from Dalhousie University and is a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario and a Fellow of the Certified Management Accountants of Ontario.

Sean Jones has extensive experience in the administration of building contracts for refurbishment and new build works. He is involved in the production of detailed information packages, the management of the design team through this process including contract administration and overseeing site works. He is familiar with the PFI process and has wide-ranging experience in the procurement of healthcare buildings. This includes leading the team during the briefing and room layout process. This involved engagement with the user groups to finalise the detail design layouts and managing the production information packages. Sean is also familiar with delivering phased schemes in a live hospital environment. During his career, he has worked at a number of commercial architectural firms both in Manchester and London, gaining experience on a wide variety of projects in the commercial, sports and leisure sectors across the globe and taking major stadia, sports grandstands and racecourse facilities through from detailed design to project completion.

Peter Moore is the Regional Director of Canada West, which includes offices in Edmonton, Calgary, Fort McMurray, and Vancouver. He is responsible for the region’s operational results, including financial performance, professional and technical work, staff development, and client satisfaction. As IBI Group’s Land Engineering Lead, he counts over 30 years of experience in the strategic review, design, and management of land development projects. He has been responsible for various aspects of the development of over 10,000 single-family lots, 400 acres of multi-family development, over 300 acres of commercial development, and more than 700 acres of industrial development, primarily in Western Canada.

He has also been responsible for Transportation Planning and the design of numerous arterial roads, stormwater management facilities, and large transmission and sewer lines.

Peter has an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from University College Dublin and a Member of the Association of Professional Engineers from both British Columbia and the Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta.
