Sean Jones has extensive experience in the administration of building contracts for refurbishment and new build works. He is involved in the production of detailed information packages, the management of the design team through this process including contract administration and overseeing site works. He is familiar with the PFI process and has wide-ranging experience in the procurement of healthcare buildings. This includes leading the team during the briefing and room layout process. This involved engagement with the user groups to finalise the detail design layouts and managing the production information packages. Sean is also familiar with delivering phased schemes in a live hospital environment. During his career, he has worked at a number of commercial architectural firms both in Manchester and London, gaining experience on a wide variety of projects in the commercial, sports and leisure sectors across the globe and taking major stadia, sports grandstands and racecourse facilities through from detailed design to project completion.

Kelly Cobbe has provided engineering design, construction administration and project management services to various local municipalities, regional municipalities and provincial and federal government agencies in Eastern and Southwestern Ontario for 30 years. Leveraging a number of IBI’s core strengths, he has undertaken infrastructure and urban streetscape revitalization projects in the downtown cores of a number of municipalities in Waterloo Region. Past efforts have also included leading the civil design efforts during the preparation of the Waterloo LRT Bid and managing a portion of the Viva H3 BRT project.
In addition to his Professional Engineer licensing in Ontario and Manitoba, Kelly was designated as a Consulting Engineer by Professional Engineers of Ontario in 2004. He is a founding member and current past-chair of the Grand River Chapter of Consulting Engineers of Ontario, an active member of the Waterloo Region Homebuilder Association Waterloo Liaison Committee, and a past member of the KW Chamber of Commerce Regional and Municipal Affairs Committee.

For major downtown rehabilitation projects such as Bank Street, the engineering is the easy part. The key element, and the greater challenge for the successful completion of such projects, is keeping the residents and stakeholders informed and happy.

David Hatton is a licensed Professional Engineer and member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers. His transportation engineering experience is broadly based, with specific emphasis on multidisciplinary projects. David is responsible for all transportation projects carried out by IBI Group’s Ottawa office, and is currently project director for a number of transportation engineering studies, road environmental assessments, and preliminary design and detail design projects. His 43 years of transportation experience include work in the UK, management of major projects and studies in the Caribbean, and construction and transportation project management in Western Canada.

He has been the Project Director or Project Manager for a range of complex real estate and master planning projects involving lands throughout Canada. As a result of Jay’s practical knowledge of the planning process and his excellent working relationships with staff at all levels of government, he has obtained timely planning approvals and successfully negotiated conditions and partnerships for small and large-scale residential developments, commercial, office, institutional and industrial projects.

He is an architect and member of the Architectural Institute of BC, the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, National Council of Architectural Registration Board, and the American Institute of Architects. He has extensive experience in the design and management of specialized institutional, high-tech facilities, protective services, and healthcare facilities. His focus has been on designing facilities with complex functional and building system requirements; in particular, he specializes in healthcare master planning, programming, medical planning, and strategic planning. John Perks is designated by PEO as a Consulting Engineer (Ontario) and holds a Masters degree in Business Administration. He has over 25 years of experience as a project manager and senior engineer for a diversity of transportation and municipal projects involving feasibility studies, Class Environmental Assessments, functional, preliminary and final designs, contract preparation, and construction administration and inspection.

His project work includes both new and reconstruction of existing civil infrastructure. This broad experience across many municipalities has provided John with the ability to large, manage multidisciplinary projects and understand the complexities of public, political, approval agency and municipal pressures and requirements on a project.
