Carlos Gutierrez De Quevedo is a mobility specialist with over ten years of experience researching and working on urban mobility projects. He is considered a subject matter expert for Smart Cities and part of the team developing IBI Group’s profile in Latin America.

Carlos has a M.Sc. in Transportation from MIT supplemented by international experience in planning and policy, infrastructure, operations, analytics, and technology projects. His strength lies in his ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in different contexts with well-rounded knowledge in all modes of urban transportation. His signature projects include analytics to infer origin and destination matrices and improve bus schedules in the Basque Country, Spain and outlining the Mobility as a Service vision for Chattanooga, ennessee. He is currently defining intelligent infrastructure for dynamic platform allocation at Metrolinx’s Union Station Bus Terminal.

With over 40 years of professional architectural experience, Neil Munro has a diverse portfolio of work and project experience working with government agencies, residential, institutional, commercial and urban planning clients. Neil has an exemplary record of institutional work including acting as principal in charge for two demanding and complex architectural commissions, the York University Schulich School of Business, which received the Governor General’s Award for Architecture, and University of Waterloo ? School of Pharmacy and School of Medicine recipient of the Ontario Association of Architects Design Excellence Award.

Neil has authored papers and given public lectures on ecological and environmental design issues. For his achievement in environmental design, he was also appointed a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.

Heather Semple LEED AP is a talented Architect and Project Manager with over 18 years of experience in a range of projects however the majority of her work has focused on health care/ laboratory design. Her strength lies in her ability to produce well-designed projects; coordinating both the design and contract documents. She is currently the Project Manager for The Visitor Welcome Centre Phase 1 on Parliament Hill. She was also part of the McGill University Health Centre team, specializing in logistics and material handling.

Heather is the recipient of the 2010 Gold Award (McGill University Health Centre/Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships) as well as the Design Thesis Book Prize (Architecture Magazine), and the Henry Adams Design Award Graduation Design Thesis (American Institute of Architects).

Neil has over 20 years of experience as a Project Architect and Urban Designer. Neil has worked on commercial and housing sector projects throughout the UK but he has become a key figure in education and education masterplanning projects, bringing architecture and urban design skills to major capital projects. Neil is a lead member of the IBI Learning+ team, specialising in school and college design, and is responsible for the design, coordination and delivery output. Neil is recognised for leading high quality projects within the business.

Neil’s leadership ability and talent to communicate ideas both visually and verbally combined with his recent experience of designing and particularly in delivering EFA funded projects means that he and his team can hit the ground running on fast track projects.
Neil has experienced first-hand the new economic reality of centrally funded projects and has adapted to this by producing designs that make most of the budget.

Following the completion of the academic paper and acclaimed HEAD Study (Holistic Evidence And Design) carried out by Professor Peter Barret at the University of Salford, Neil has played a leading role in developing the practical application of this research through IBI THiNK, our in-house Research & Development team, culminating in the “Clever Classroom” design and school assessment toolkit.

Rachel DeWitt is IBI Learning+ lead. Rachel began this passion as a part of our education team in Houston, joined our team in Portland for 2016, and now currently is based out of our Denver office. She has an M.Ed from Texas A&M University, and is particularly interested in the impact space and place has on student cognition. As a former educator, Rachel has been a speaker at national and international conferences on various education topics. Rachel will be working with all of our senior leaders across the education practice to strategize how to move the education practice forward with particular focus on five key areas: business development, professional development, growth, innovation, and thought leadership.

He is also registered as a qualified designer in the field of Lighting, Detection and Power with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing in Ontario.
