Mark Bendix is a Director and Office Lead with over 35 years of experience in the management, direction and coordination of large technical groups. He has an Electrical Engineering background and has been responsible for the evaluation, planning, design and maintenance of industrial, commercial and institutional facilities across a wide cross section of these sectors. This includes transit facilities, automotive plants, water and wastewater facilities, hotel and entertainment facilities, transformer stations, aviation facilities and office buildings. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in a number of Canadian provinces and is a Fellow of Engineers Canada.

Mark is responsible for the technical and financial performance of the Toronto West office that provides a diverse range of services and oversees the performance of design teams on complex projects. This includes interpreting and understanding the project requirements, confirming these with the various stakeholders and sponsors, identifying the various design services needed, maintaining and adjusting resources as required to meet schedules and budgets, coordinating the various design tasks and teams and executing the design quality assurance and control processes.

As Deputy Regional Director for Canada East, Ron Stewart’s primary focus is liaising with the Ontario office leads outside Toronto. Ron is a transportation engineer, and member of Professional Engineers Ontario, the Institute of Transportation Engineers, and the Transportation Association of Canada. He has more than 30 years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams in both the private and public sectors at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels across Canada. His experience includes Traffic Engineering, Road Safety, Transportation Planning, Transit Systems, ITS, and Signal System Operations and Maintenance.

Ron has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Business Administration from York University.

Sean Jones has extensive experience in the administration of building contracts for refurbishment and new build works. He is familiar with the PFI process and has wide-ranging experience in the procurement of healthcare buildings. This includes leading the team during the briefing and room layout process. This involved engagement with the user groups to finalise the detail design layouts and managing the production information packages. Sean is also familiar with delivering phased schemes in a live hospital environment. During his career, he has worked at a number of commercial architectural firms both in Manchester and London, gaining experience on a wide variety of projects in the commercial, sports and leisure sectors across the globe and taking major stadia, sports grandstands and racecourse facilities through from detailed design to project completion.

Larry Baldwin is a multi-modal (speech and touch input) interaction design specialist who has designed and deployed mobile, telematics, web and in-home speech, touch-screen and web-browser applications for the past 12 years. He is a visionary in multi-modal application design with three patents to his name (one pending). Larry lead the interaction design of unique Alaska 511 and South Carolina 511 mobile websites and was the interaction designer for the Florida 511 iPhone application. He was also the lead designer of telematics (in-car) applications such as the Pioneer in-dash system (AVIC-Z1 In-Dash HDD Navigation and Multimedia AV Receiver with DVD). In addition to transportation-related IVR system and application design, Larry was the also the lead speech designer for Voco (The World?s First Voice controlled Wireless Music System). He brings a wealth of design experience and understands the challenges inherent in system design and deployment.

Tom Bacus, a Director in Salt Lake City, UT brings over 20 years of experience in planning and civil engineering to the IBI team. During his career, he has successfully delivered numerous projects including work on tech campuses, large planned communities and light rail transit projects.
