CCL/IBI, a division of IBI Group, is a pioneer in the waterpower consulting industry. As a result of our commitment to innovation in water resources management, we initially became specialists in satisfying the unique needs of plants with low head or low flow characteristics. Over the past two decades, CCL/IBI has expanded its experience to include high head and large flow projects throughout Canada and the world. We have also expanded our services to include Pre-Development Studies, Engineering, Due Diligence, Environmental Assessments and Approvals and Post Construction Services. With the integration of CCL and IBI Group in 2004, we were able to add to our services Systems and Security Design.
The growing renewable and sustainable energy market has also allowed us to expand our project experience to include windpower, cogeneration, and landfill gas.
Our project experience extends throughout Newfoundland, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, New Hampshire, New York and Nevada. International project experience includes Central and South America, Africa and Asia. CCL/IBI's associate company, CCL Small Hydro, developed and now owns and operates small waterpower plants in Zimbabwe and the Philippines, providing us with a unique insight into small international developments.
Projects include new developments, expansions/upgrades, project reviews/audits, dam safety assessments, watershed/water management studies, assistance with CIDA program developments, web-based site and security monitoring systems.
Pre-Development Studies
CCL/IBI puts great emphasis on initial site reconnaissance and feasibility studies necessary to determine the engineering, environmental and economic viability of candidate sites for renewable energy production.

Engineering
Physical conditions at renewable energy sites vary significantly in terms of energy sources availability (water, wind etc.) terrain characteristics and geologic structure. CCL/IBI strives to ensure effective, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing plant designs by focusing on the developer's unique requirements, cost constraints, and neighbouring architectural and landscape attributes.
CCL/IBI's construction management and site supervision staff provide on-site expertise to provide immediate assistance to deal with any unexpected conditions or modifications to design

CCL/IBI have undertaken Environmental Assessments and obtained approvals for nearly three-quarters of all the new hydro projects constructed or under construction in Ontario in the past 4 years.
