Al Madina Public Transport System

The City of Al Madina Al Munawara is the second holy city in the Islamic world. This city of 950,000 residents is visited by about four million pilgrims and Umra visitors annually. These numbers are projected to be doubled within the next 25 year.
The study involves a public transportation system for the Al Madina central district and consists of the following phases:
- Phase 1: Existing and future conditions, assessment of alternative technologies and selection of an initial public transportation system
- Phase 2: Functional design of the initial system
- Phase 3: Development of implementation / phasing strategies, including alternatives for financing
