Canada-U.S.-Ontario-Michigan Border Transportation Partnership Planning/Need and Feasibility Study
The Canada-United States-Ontario-Michigan Transportation Partnership was set up to examine alternatives to improve transportation across the Ontario-Michigan portion of the Canada-U.S. boundary. A joint U.S.-Canada study was commissioned to examine these issues.

This study analyzed and evaluated various transportation alternatives to solve the cross-border capacity deficiency in Windsor-Detroit. The study of new/improved arterial/highway access to border crossings in combination with new/improved international crossings:
Even with all these improvements, however, it is expected that additional border crossing capacity will be required over the next 30 years. A number of alternative locations for this increased capacity were examined and evaluated
