The design vision for the Molson Arbutus Industrial Lands combines a building character based on the site’s “historical resonance” with an open space concept that has been conceived with the participating community representatives in the Arbutus Industrial Lands Working Group and the City. The new buildings form an ensemble that respects and responds to the architectural character of the existing neighbouring buildings and are linked by pedestrian priority streets and/or pedestrian only passages/mews.
IBI Group was the master planner for the site as well as architects for selected buildings. The development of the urban design vision involved an extensive public consultation process. Additionally, IBI Group led the entitlement process and served as project manager regarding site demolition, on behalf of the landowner.
