Ms. Ranson is a corporate director and entrepreneur with deep financial expertise in accounting, capital markets and investments. Using a common sense approach and by asking insightful questions, she draws on her extensive corporate and not-for-profit board committee experiences to provide strategic oversight to boards. She is currently President of The Ranson Group Inc., a company offering coaching and leadership work with senior and c-suite executives. Prior to founding her company, Ms. Ranson spent over 20 years in the Financial Services industry and was a top ranked Financial Services Analyst and Managing Director with RBC Capital Markets and a senior Portfolio Manager with TAL (CIBC). She was also an Adjunct Professor for the Master of Finance program at the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University for three years.

Ms. Ranson is a dedicated leader with experience chairing audit, governance, risk, and HR and compensation committees. Currently, she is serving as a director for Sprott Inc. (TSX: SII), Dorel Industries (TSX: DII.B), Fire and Flower (TSX: FAF) EFH Holdings (TSXV: EFH) and the City of Toronto Investment Board. Ms. Ranson also Chairs the Nominating Committee for the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSPIB). Previously, she was on the Board of Governors for CI Investments, a member of the Expert Investment Advisory Committee assisting the Government of Ontario as it pertains to Hydro One, Borrowell, Bank West, Spark Power Group, Western Life, Western Financial Insurance and MEGA Brands. Ms. Ranson is an FCPA, FCA and holds the ICD.D designation.  She graduated from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and holds an MBA degree from York University, Toronto, Ontario.
