Joe Heyninck is a Professional Engineer in Ontario with over 40 years of experience in the civil consulting field in southwestern Ontario. Brian Hollingworth been with IBI Group for 22 years, where he has carried out a wide variety of studies in transportation planning, transit and sustainable urban development. Over the past decade Brian has served as the project manager for transportation master plans in York Region, Durham Region, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Victoria, Regina, Hamilton and Markham. Integration of land use planning, transportation and transit has been at the forefront of each of these plans.

Steven Kresak is the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of IBI Group Inc. and is responsible for the firm’s legal affairs worldwide. From 2006 through 2014 Steven served at Infrastructure Ontario, in a variety of leadership roles including Director, Special Initiatives; Vice President, Sales and Acquisitions; and Senior Vice President, Commercial Projects, where he led a series of transactions to monetize government assets in the transportation, remanufacturing, entertainment, rail and telecommunications sectors. Steven earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Saskatchewan and a Law degree (Distinction) from the University of Alberta. James Sorensen specializes in ITS projects and has led a wide variety of advanced public transportation systems, traveller information systems, traffic management applications, and public safety and emergency response technologies. He also has provided ITS strategic planning and technology assessments for a wide variety of public agency and private sector clients. James was the Project Manager for the ITS and Communications Design of the CTfastrak Bus Rapid Transit project, the Bridgeport Connecticut ATMS and Operations project, and the development of regional ITS architecture for Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Puerto Rico.

James is a past president of the Intelligent Transportation Society of Massachusetts and a recipient of their Award of Excellence. He has worked on two projects that have received the Intelligent Transportation Society of Connecticut?s Project of the Year Award. Upon joining IBI Group, Jill Mackay was tasked to develop Regional ITS architecture for a broad range of clients, including throughout the state of Washington. Through the facilitation of stakeholder workshops, Jill became adept at helping agencies identify a vision and strategic path for the identification, prioritization and implementation of innovative transportation technologies that would improve operational efficiencies and performance.

Beyond the planning phase, Jill has worked on fare collection, electronic toll collection and CAD/AVL system implementations from the initial needs assessment phase through to systems acceptance. Currently, Jill is leading IBI Group’s multidisciplinary Connected and Autonomous Vehicles practice, which is comprised of professionals dedicated to guiding our traffic and transit agency clients on how to plan, prepare and benefit from innovative autonomous technologies. A team from the CAV Working Group was recently a finalist in New York?s Driverless Future design challenge, which sought ideas on how automated vehicles could address urban growth issues in New York City.

In addition to the Transport Sector, Rachel provides spatial data expertise to projects across IBI’s portfolio.
