Marcus leads IBI’s masterplanning team in the South-East of England, bringing over 30 years’ experience in mixed-use development for both public and private sector clients.

Marcus works across IBI’s sectors, combining our expertise in health, education and technology into a distinctive approach to place-making, providing advice to NHS England for their Healthy New Town programme; and leading on projects that link place quality with innovation, including the Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District and Lancaster University’s Health Innovation Campus.

Marcus’s regeneration plan for Barnsley won the 2016 Masterplanner of the Year Award and he is currently advising Southend Council on procurement of a development partner for a major regeneration project.

International projects include a master plan for Orléans, a university campus in Qijianga, China and a new township in Pune, India. Marcus is currently working on a series of pilot projects for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He has prepared numerous policy reviews, land use investigations, highest and best use analyses, market/financial analyses, site plans, district/master plans and land disposition strategies on behalf of public, institutional and private sector clients. He has been the Project Director or Project Manager for a range of complex real estate and master planning projects involving lands throughout Canada. As a result of Jay’s practical knowledge of the planning process and his excellent working relationships with staff at all levels of government, he has obtained timely planning approvals and successfully negotiated conditions and partnerships for small and large-scale residential developments, commercial, office, institutional and industrial projects.

Danielle Sernoskie is an Architect with the Transit Architecture Team at IBI Group and is currently the Architectural Project Manager for the three underground stations of the Ottawa LRT – Confederation Line.

Danielle joined IBI Group by way of SGA in 2012 after completing degrees in Architecture at Ryerson University (B.Arch.Sci.) and the University of Toronto (M.Arch). Prior to joining IBI Group she gained experience at a variety of design firms in Toronto as well as in Ireland and Slovakia – working on projects that range from entertainment, commercial and institutional to residential.

During her last six and a half years with IBI Group, Danielle has almost exclusively been involved with the OLRT project beginning with the Pursuit Phase and continuing through the Design Development Phase and, now, Construction Phase. Outside of project work, she is responsible for the hiring and mentoring of co-op students for the Transit Architecture Team, is an active member of STRIVE and is always seeking new opportunities to get involved in business development.

Geoff Carter joined IBI Group working in the development of our Advanced Traffic Management Systems software with an emphasis on the mapping display functionality. Geoff now leads IBI’s Advanced Traveller Information web and data interface team. Geoff and his team now support IBI traveller information systems that service roughly 25% of the population in the US, with notable active 511 solutions deployed in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Florida, Wisconsin and Los Angeles. Geoff led IBI’s efforts for the deployment of the traveller information web site for the Pan Am games. Geoff has led efforts to provide SaaS (Software as a Solution), advanced IBI’s hosting center in Tampa, Florida and has managed the program to productize IBI’s software solution thereby allowing IBI to bring tremendous value to its clients. He is currently leading IBI’s efforts to advance the Event Reporting System and managing the New York and Wisconsin 511 projects.

As US Lead, Infrastructure, David Chow is responsible for the region’s operational results, including financial performance, professional and technical work, staff development, and client satisfaction. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree (Civil Engineering) from the University of California at Irvine and is both a registered Professional Engineer (Civil) and a certified Planner with the American Institute of Certified Planners. He is a licensed engineer in California, Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, and North Carolina, and is nationally certified by AICP as a planner in North America.

David has over 25 years of experience in engineering, planning, and urban design. He has managed major investment studies, complex transportation and land-use projects, Transit Oriented Development projects, as well as the design of local and regional transit systems, and technical work for environmental impact studies.

Rachel DeWitt is IBI Learning+ lead. Rachel began this passion as a part of our education team in Houston, joined our team in Portland for 2016, and now currently is based out of our Denver office. She has an M.Ed from Texas A&M University, and is particularly interested in the impact space and place has on student cognition. As a former educator, Rachel has been a speaker at national and international conferences on various education topics. Rachel will be working with all of our senior leaders across the education practice to strategize how to move the education practice forward with particular focus on five key areas: business development, professional development, growth, innovation, and thought leadership.
