Mike Murray specializes in the design of civil and transportation infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients across a broad range of project types including traditional and non-traditional public sector transportation; municipal and county clients, commercial and residential development, parks, trails, and schools. Stephen Shawcross joined the IBI Group Toronto office in 1979. In 1980 he moved to Calgary and became a partner in 1987. Mr. Shawcross was instrumental in the growth of the practice, which he led along with Architect Ross Hayes for many years. Under his direction the Calgary office added civil engineering, landscape architecture, graphics, and expanded the scope of the planning group to include land valuation, market research, economics and benefit/cost analysis to complement the land use and urban design functions. During his tenure, the planning and landscape groups garnered numerous honours including AACIP and CIP awards. More recently Mr. Shawcross and his team, including the full complement of IBI disciplines, have created state-of-the-art tools for use in Flood Damage Reduction projects. This work has culminated in the authorship of the Canadian Guidelines and Database of Flood Vulnerability Functions for Natural Resources and Public Safety Canada.
