Since joining the firm in 1975 as a facilities planner, Michael has contributed his leadership, strategic planning, and management expertise to community, educational, judicial, municipal, and federal projects throughout the United States. In 1994, he established the office in Alexandria, Virginia, to provide services to our federal and related public-sector clients.

As US Lead, Infrastructure, David Chow is responsible for the region’s operational results, including financial performance, professional and technical work, staff development, and client satisfaction. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree (Civil Engineering) from the University of California at Irvine and is both a registered Professional Engineer (Civil) and a certified Planner with the American Institute of Certified Planners. He is a licensed engineer in California, Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, and North Carolina, and is nationally certified by AICP as a planner in North America.

David has over 25 years of experience in engineering, planning, and urban design. He has managed major investment studies, complex transportation and land-use projects, Transit Oriented Development projects, as well as the design of local and regional transit systems, and technical work for environmental impact studies.

Claudia Krywiak is Vice President, Corporate Development, Planning and Strategic Initiatives at the Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE), a not-for-profit organization that drives the growth of a knowledge-based economy in Ontario.  In partnership with industry, OCE co-invests in industrially relevant R&D and the commercialization of leading edge technologies, supporting the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.

At OCE, Claudia is responsible for the strategic development and implementation of initiatives that bring together multiple levels of government, large corporations, and SMEs to fuel growth in emerging technology areas, such as advanced computing and artificial intelligence, connected and autonomous vehicles, 5G and next generation networks, cybersecurity, and clean technologies.  Her team has a mandate to work with government, academic, and industry leaders to accelerate business innovation in high potential sectors that provide a competitive advantage for Canada in the global economy.

Prior to joining OCE, Claudia held the position of Vice President, Business Development (Ontario) at Mitacs, a national research organization that funds research and training programs for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in partnership with universities, industry, and government in Canada.

Claudia received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Toronto in 2003 and subsequently worked for Bruker BioSpin, a world leader in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) technology, enabling scientists to make breakthrough discoveries and develop new applications.

Many projects require bespoke and particular methods of engagement and consultation and with the end user in mind, Sue runs a series of innovative processes including workshops and exhibitions. She has also developed a sound understanding of client values and requirements when delivering educational buildings on occupied sites.
