Shout out to cycling, not only the most enjoyable, sustainable, and healthy mode of transportation but also the simplest solution to city transportation issues.
My passions for big cities, systems technology, and sustainable mobility align with the work I am involved with as a Transportation EIT. My background in systems design and analytical thinking began during my undergrad, as I specialized in Applied Mathematics at Queen’s University. I then spent 2 years as a Mechanical Designer, which gave me an in-depth appreciation for the complexities of building systems, and inspired me to think about these projects at a larger scale. I pursued these interests throughout a Cities Engineering and Management Master’s program at University of Toronto. My Transportation Specialization led to a much greater understanding of the policy, planning and technical background to work with transportation systems, and my Emphasis in Analytics taught me to apply data-based processes to further improve these systems. In my role at IBI, I am able to apply these skills on various transportation projects, ranging from curbside management to transportation demand analytics. My skillset has enabled me to apply innovative, technology-based solutions to better address the complex issues cities are facing today. Outside of work I can be found exploring cities by bike, enjoying local food and music festivals, or out enjoying mountain and cottage country on weekend getaways.
