John Perks is designated by PEO as a Consulting Engineer (Ontario) and holds a Masters degree in Business Administration. He has over 25 years of experience as a project manager and senior engineer for a diversity of transportation and municipal projects involving feasibility studies, Class Environmental Assessments, functional, preliminary and final designs, contract preparation, and construction administration and inspection.

His project work includes both new and reconstruction of existing civil infrastructure. This broad experience across many municipalities has provided John with the ability to large, manage multidisciplinary projects and understand the complexities of public, political, approval agency and municipal pressures and requirements on a project.

John is also one of the few Region of Waterloo approved acoustical engineers and has completed the MOE noise assessment course as well as numerous seminars with expertise acoustical studies for both road and rail transportation, and stationary noise sources.

Matt Colwill, BA.Sc, P.Eng, has 15 years of experience in the fields of road user safety and traffic operations. Matt has conducted operational and safety reviews for a range of public sector clients, at all levels of government, including the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario, the City of Toronto, the City of Ottawa, York Region, the City of Waterloo, Transport Canada, and a number of private sector clients. These projects have involved safety and operational assessments of freeways, rural highways, urban and suburban arterials, and local roadways, and they have addressed the needs of vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and specialty road users.

Matt is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, and serves as the Transportation Safety Committee representative to the Sustainability Standing Committee. He is also an active participant in the Road Safety Committee of Ontario.

Matt has also published papers and presented at the Transportation Association of Canada annual meeting, addressing topics that include the safety impacts of freeway HOV lanes, the effectiveness of winter weather collision countermeasures, and designing streets to protect vulnerable road users.

Every building has its own idiosyncratic constraints of context, site, program, budget, and vocabulary. The challenge is to successfully resolve them into a gracefully crafted architectural composition. Our role as designers is to ensure that each building has its own personality and responds appropriately to its urban context. This is what we do best.

Mr. Kazerouni is the Global Director of Buildings at IBI. Mr. Kazerouni graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Master’s degree, in 1991. With over 25 years of experience, he has a significant portfolio of projects completed or underway across Canada, the United States, the UK, UAE, Jordan and India. These include high density high-rise residential buildings, hotels, office, retail, institutional, and complex urban mixed-use developments. A number of these projects have been nominated for and received Urban Design and Architectural Design awards.

Mr. Kazerouni has been a guest lecturer on the subject of architecture and mixed-use design at universities, conferences and various panels. He has also been interviewed on the subject by architectural publications, newspapers, television and other media. Mr. Kazerouni’s abilities and expertise in his field have been recognized by his appointment to the City of Mississauga’s Urban Design Advisory Panel, the City of Markham’s Urban Design Advisory Panel and the City of Vaughan’s Urban Design Advisory Panel. He is also a past Advisory Board Member of the Urban Land Institute, and a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.

Min Seung Shin is an integral part of the transit architecture group where he continually refines his knowledge, management and communication skills with each successive project. He was a core team member for the successful design development of Eglinton Crosstown LRT, Edmonton LRT and Ottawa LRT. He is currently managing one of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT stations. Before joining IBI Group, Min worked in France, South Korea and in cities in Europe, such as Rome and Barcelona. He worked as part of the design team for international projects such as Philharmonie de Paris la Villette, Las Vegas Atlantis, the competition winning proposal for urban renewal of La Roche-sur-Yon (France), and the competition winning proposal for Auditorium de Saint Cyprien (France). He is a member of the French Architectural Association with a government issued diploma.

Mr. Reid is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant, with over 40 years’ experience. He was Audit Leader for KPMG LLP in the Greater Toronto Area from 2008 to 2014. He has extensive experience in auditing as well as the management of professional service organizations, and has experience in strategic planning, development and growth management in all business sectors and industries, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, technology and health care.

Mr. Reid is a founding member and Chair of the Audit Committee of the Perimeter Institute of Theoretical Physics, which supports physics research, training and outreach throughout the world. Mr. Reid served as chair of six hospital boards and two colleges across Canada. Mr. Reid received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario.

With over 35 years of experience, Sue Chadwick has worked with a diverse group of clients on projects in various sectors. She is considered one of the leaders in IBI Group’s Education sector, offering advice at senior level and bringing a vast level of practical knowledge to any project.

She is an excellent communicator and is experienced in developing complex briefs with clients and stakeholders. Many projects require bespoke and particular methods of engagement and consultation and with the end user in mind, Sue runs a series of innovative processes including workshops and exhibitions. She has also developed a sound understanding of client values and requirements when delivering educational buildings on occupied sites.

As a qualified architectural technologist, Sue also has extensive technological knowledge in all aspects of design, construction processes contemporary building fabrics and structures.  Within the IBI Group, Sue is involved in promoting technical quality with an aim to embed an ethos of excellence and consistency in our approach by setting companywide standards that ensure we continue to deliver an excellent service to our clients.
