Ashish Ghate is Deputy Lead, Placemaking at IBI, and oversees the International region in the capacity of International Sector Lead, Infrastructure. He is responsible for business growth, team motivation and professional development, while focusing on strong collaborations between our offices and sectors globally. Ashish also serves as the first point of contact for Buildings-sector work within the International region. Ashish graduated with a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from McGill University in 2006 after completing his Bachelor of Architecture. He has worked on a variety of award-winning regional planning; transit-oriented-development; master planning, urban design and land use planning projects across North, Central and South America, Middle East, Eastern Europe, and India. Ashish applies his unique understanding of contextually-appropriate design that embraces the local culture and design excellence, while making an impact on communities across the world.

Joshua Ashish Dawson is an Indian-born, award-winning filmmaker & designer based in Los Angeles. He received a Master’s in Advanced Architectural Studies from the University of Southern California, where he was the recipient of the S. Kenneth Johnson Memorial Scholarship and a Gesundheit traveling fellow. He trained under Pritzker Prize-winning architect Balkrishna Doshi as well as Hollywood production designer Alex McDowell, founder of the World Building Institute at USC. This combination has led him to explore world-building and storytelling as a speculative fiction tool for architecture, re-imagining the built environment through interdisciplinary design thinking and cinema. His work has been screened at the Garden of Australian Dreams at the National Museum of Australia in Canberra, as well as renowned film festivals across the world. Adam is a Transportation Planner that has been with IBI Group since completing his MASc in Transportation Planning at the University of Toronto in 2014. His professional expertise is broad and spans strategic transportation planning, transit planning, transportation demand modelling, parking policy, and curbside management. His parking related work is on the leading edge of parking policy, having undertaken one of the first curbside management strategies in North America for the City of Toronto. This parking work intersects with regional planning through projects such as the Hamilton Parking Master Plan, where IBI Group is assessing the parking related impacts of planned rapid transit projects across Hamilton. He has also worked on a range of transportation master plans and regional transportation studies, including the Metrolinx Regional Transportation Plan where he led a team in identifying key gaps in the existing and future regional transportation networks. This analysis was an important piece of the RTP and informed the prioritization of regional transit projects. He has worked in both the private and public sectors in the U.S. and Canada and has a strong working knowledge of transportation trends and issues being experienced throughout North America. David is a Senior Consultant based in IBI’s Glasgow office with considerable project management and consultancy experience. In a career spanning over 20 years, David has worked in both technology and transport planning fields. Since joining IBI he has played a lead role on our work with Transport Scotland, where he is now the project manager for the major Traffic Scotland Systems Contract Framework, one of IBI’s largest projects in the UK. This contract covers the development and operation of a number of systems critical to the management of the strategic road network and related functions, as well as other consulting services. In addition to the project manager role, David continues to lead on specific projects delivered under the Framework, including Scotland’s new National Traffic Data System. This is a significant development for Transport Scotland and has been a complex project which has required a range of skills: engagement and coordination with a wide range of stakeholders; technical ability in respect to system requirements and design; management of the client with the introduction of new processes and procedures; and overseeing the implementation and launch. David holds an Honours degree in Computer Science, a Masters in Transport Planning and Engineering, and is PRINCE2 certified. He is also accredited in Software Testing.
