Claudio Venier is a graduate of McGill University’s School of Architecture, where he earned both a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Architecture. Claudio has over 25 years of experience working in private practice and in architecture offices, including ARCOP, Dan Hanganu, and Saia Barbese in Montreal, Wilkson Eyre in London, England, and in Toronto with Montgomery and Sisam, HOK Canada, architects Alliance and KPMB. Since May 2016, he has worked as a project architect for IBI Group in Toronto. Claudio’s projects include the Condominiums at One Bedford, the award-winning Maple Leaf Square mixed-use project, Library District Condominiums and Axis Condominiums. Claudio’s professional work is characterized by the ability to develop and realize high levels of design through his involvement in both the design and construction phases of a project. Claudio also has an interest in architectural education and sustainable design. He has participated in architecture studios at the University of Toronto and Ryerson University, and has entered sustainable design competitions, including CMHC’s Equilibrium Sustainable Housing Demonstration Initiative.

Caz Thomson has 20 years of commercial experience in systems architecture design and full lifecycle development within many disciplines, ranging from utilities management, through medical insurance to manufacturing and transportation systems. Caz has excellent technical expertise in a number of development platforms and significant experience in requirements analysis, system design and architecture, the management of large development teams and the delivery of mobile, web and system development projects. Caz also architected IBI Group’s Software and System Development processes and procedures in the UK, using the Structured Systems Analysis and Design Methodology. She currently co-manages the UK Systems team, which now numbers some 20 developers and specialists.

There is nothing more rewarding than knowing that your designs have made a difference - however small. Having been lucky enough to work on significant projects designed specifically for children (from birth to adulthood) improving those patient’s journeys has been an amazing experience.
Charles first joined IBI in 1997 working in the London office. Moving to Belfast in 2011, he re-joined the company in 2022 with a desire to broaden his experience of quality design projects outside of Northern Ireland in the context of a changing climate. Healthcare is his focus, where having been involved in new build projects at Great Ormond Street, he then led the design and delivery of the Ulster Maternity Hospital and Women & Children’s Projects in Belfast. He is a proactive and highly motivated architect with a wide range of experience in design and construction. Charles has specialised in the management, design and co-ordination of complex projects at various stages within the design process. Charles is a talented designer, who has worked in partnership with several universities and is acutely aware of the benefits good design can bring to our clients.
