Local team wins Beautiful Bakersfield 2016 Award
Design Architect, Mark Engelien and Architect, Brad Henerson in our Bakersfield office were honoured when their redesign of Bakersfield Paediatrics and Valley Children’s Hospital won Renovation/Tenant Improvement at Beautiful Bakersfield 2016.
The award goes to the top renovated design that upgrades an existing structure and/or incorporates use of landscaping to enhance the aesthetic value of the property.
Incorporating the building’s natural history, the new clinic allows local families to seek specialized care for their children without having to travel to Los Angeles or Madera. This project developed a partnership to bring the first pediatric subspecialty clinic to Kern County. An existing medical building near Dignity Health Bakersfield Memorial Hospital was expanded and renovated, providing more exam rooms and additional administrative areas.
