IBI Group Statement on Tragic Grenfell Tower Fire
Toronto, ON / June 22, 2017 / – On behalf of its employees in the United Kingdom and around the world, IBI Group Inc. (“IBI Group“) extends its sympathies to those affected by the recent tragic fire at the Grenfell Tower in West London.
IBI Group has received media inquiries about its role in the Grenfell Tower refurbishment. IBI Group, through its affiliate, IBI Taylor Young Limited, acted as the town planning consultant on the refurbishment project of the Grenfell residential tower from 2012-2016 on behalf of its client, the Kensington and Chelsea Tenant Management Organization.
IBI Group’s role was the provision of town planning advice and the coordination and management of town planning applications for its client.
In light of the tragic events of 14th June, IBI Group understands a full investigation will be undertaken and it will support the authorities completely in the interests of finding out the causes of this tragedy. In order to respect the investigative work under way we feel it would not be appropriate for IBI Group to comment any further at this time.
