Prior to joining IBI, Susan spent 10 years working with one of the world’s largest freight forwarder and overnight delivery companies, where she was responsible for developing the company’s customer-facing global trade data web applications.

He has significant experience with complex projects and large teams in the Far East, the Middle East and North Africa. In his work, he is responsive to environmental and civic concerns, and has deployed ground-breaking design strategies suitable to climate and project conditions.

John Amodeo LEED AP has over 30 years of experience in landscape architecture and practices a wide range of project types from small to complex, in both the public and private sectors. His varied project types include college and university campuses, parks, market and public housing, historic landscapes, streetscapes, bikeways, and natural resource conservation. He has also prepared landscape development guidelines for municipalities with particular emphasis on sustainable development.

John has extensive experience with public process and regulatory permitting, placing particular focus on consensus building in the early phases of a project.
Since 1997, John has also been a Commissioner on the Boston Landmark Commission and the South End Landmark District Commission.

James Sorensen

James Sorensen specializes in ITS projects and has led a wide variety of advanced public transportation systems, traveller information systems, traffic management applications, and public safety and emergency response technologies. He also has provided ITS strategic planning and technology assessments for a wide variety of public agency and private sector clients. James was the Project Manager for the ITS and Communications Design of the CTfastrak Bus Rapid Transit project, the Bridgeport Connecticut ATMS and Operations project, and the development of regional ITS architecture for Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Puerto Rico.

James is a past president of the Intelligent Transportation Society of Massachusetts and a recipient of their Award of Excellence. He has worked on two projects that have received the Intelligent Transportation Society of Connecticut’s Project of the Year Award. He is also a member of IBI Group’s Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Working Group.

Since joining our team in 1999, Cathy Offenberg has developed a specialty in campus site planning and design for public and private school facilities. She also oversees a diverse array of practice areas including urban parks, streetscapes, and embassy work for the U.S Department of State’s Overseas Building Operations (OBO). As a Principal with the firm, Cathy is responsible for managing project scope, budget and schedule; client and sub-consultant coordination; supervising in-house project staff; development of design, technical and presentation packages, as well as cost estimates, technical specifications and permitting documents; construction administration and project representation at meetings and presentations. Cathy has a thorough understanding of the public process and has assisted in managing complex projects from inception through construction.
