— Global design and technology firm strengthens decade-long relationship with updated and expanded mobility solutions —

TORONTO, ON (May 17, 2021) – Global design and technology firm, IBI Group (TSX:IBG), is continuing its relationship with the South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) via a six-year Freeway Traffic Management Software and Support Services contract. The new assignment builds on 10 years of collaboration between IBI and SANRAL that has resulted in safer and more efficient highways in the country’s most populous regions.

This new contract includes updates to IBI Group’s advanced traffic management system (ATMS) and Travel-IQ™ traveller information solutions, which are already used to manage traffic on freeways serving Greater Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town. Under the agreement, IBI will migrate the ATMS and Travel-IQ systems from on-premises to cloud-computing environments, extend their geographic coverage to the Eastern Cape region, and expand the systems’ existing business intelligence functionality.

“Our ongoing partnership with SANRAL is a testament to the quality of the firm’s solutions and delivery, and our ability to develop deep, lasting partnerships on a global scale,” said IBI Group CEO, Scott Stewart. “The evolution and expansion of our mobility solutions will support the continued improvement of safety and road conditions in South Africa’s four most populous provinces, and adds a stream of recurring revenue to our growing SaaS portfolio.”
