The PRDM is an essential, Emirate-wide planning tool that takes a comprehensive approach to help build world-class communities and a public realm that meets the needs of the people of Abu Dhabi. The PRDM was organized into four categories: parks, streetscapes, coastal areas and public places. The guidelines are focused on creating diverse public parks and civic spaces; an interconnected system of public walkways; bicycle trails and public transit; a vibrant and active waterfront; and active mixed-use areas enhanced through high-quality architecture, streetscape design and public art.

We are the global partner to plan, design, build, and sustain the cities of tomorrow.
We are holistically minded, design inspired, and technology driven.

Global Director, Placemaking & International

We have passed the point where half of the world's population is living in cities. If we as planners and designers want to continue to fight urban sprawl, then we need to focus on maintaining a high quality of green infrastructure in our cities and in particular around transit. The public realm, including parks, streets, shared streets and public plazas need to be designed to maximize the human experience. How we animate those spaces, and manage them with a mix of good design and technology will dictate the quality of life in our future cities.

Trevor McIntyre is Global Director, Placemaking & International. He is responsible for International operational results, including financial performance, professional and technical excellence, staff motivation and development, and client satisfaction.
