An advancement in urban mobility
The Valley Line LRT is a 27km, low-floor, urban line that will operate between Mill Woods in southeast Edmonton and Downtown Edmonton, incorporating 12 urban stops and an operations, maintenance, and storage facility. Station stops have level-boarding platforms, conveniently integrated into the existing roadway system within medians, as well as into sidewalks and other pedestrian systems.
Delivered through a P3 consortium, design of the project is expected to be completed in 2017, with the system coming into full service by 2020. IBI Group’s role on the project includes providing design leadership to the following elements:
- Facilities Architecture of the Operations & Maintenance Facility (OMF), Davies Station, Utility Complexes & Buildings and Churchill Connector
- Landscape Architecture & Urban Design of 102 Avenue Streetscape, Corridor Wide Landscapes and River Valley Landscape Integration
- Traffic Signals Infrastructure
- Sustainable Urban Integration (SUI) of public art, branding, support system, buildings, bridges & structures, lighting and urban realm
