Emma is a consultant focusing on spatial data and mapping, supporting IBI Group’s broad portfolio of projects across the transport and urban development sectors. Her expertise in Spatial Intelligence includes data management, analysis and visualisation. She has applied this expertise to a range of projects including Travel Demand Management projects for Transport for London and Highways England, and Master planning projects both locally and internationally. Through IBI Group’s Pocket R&D Initiative she developed SiteiQ, a GIS based tool to assist site analysis in all of IBI Group’s practice areas, allowing users to comprehensively review a site, in situ, by means of geolocation, photography and constraint information. As Regional GIS lead for our International Offices Emma creates and coordinates a range of global GIS initiatives. These aim to promote and increase the use of Spatial Intelligence across the firm and bring together GIS professionals throughout the company.

Martin Wickes

A qualified architect, Martin specializes in designing for the healthcare and laboratory sectors working with public sector clients to deliver value for money solutions. With over 20 years experience in healthcare design and excellent analytical and problem solving skills, he is particularly good at leading stakeholder consultation processes to secure valuable opinion and translating this into an informed, feasible solution. This was evidenced at the Royal United Hospital Bath, where Martin successfully supported the Trust in reorganizing their estate. Martin has extensive experience overseeing architectural projects and co-coordinating consultants, to provide a full design service acting as lead consultant on various types of projects from inception to completion.

David is a specialist in asset data management policy and systems and has a wealth of knowledge in applied research, highway surveying techniques and organisational assessment and capability building. His experience in operations led to his engagement as a lead researcher investigating emerging best practice and technologies for application to the management of the UK strategic road network, climate change adaptation for infrastructure and developing models for understanding the financial impact of policy and practice as well as the development of cost effective data collection methodologies. His current area of involvement has focused on Highways England Asset Management systems and practice.

Andrew Street

Andrew is a qualified architect specialising in healthcare, education, housing, and arts and community-based design with over 15 years’ experience in the sector, specifically in Wales. As a strong team leader, he has managed the design and delivery of projects under various public sector procurement routes and contracts, delivering a variety of types of facilities. Andrew’s broad and strong skill base allows him to engage at all stages of a project and balances established presentation and design qualities with technical excellence. Andrew is involved with a number of multi-agency, diverse stakeholder group projects, where he is able to bring clear communication and innovative solutions which result in stakeholder buy-in. This has led him to become involved in a diverse range of consultations, from community gardening to large stakeholder workshops. Andrew is project director for Cardiff University’s Centre for Student Life, Cardiff University Community Gateway’s Grangetown Pavilion Project, Swansea City Health Wellbeing Centre and Tredegar Health Wellbeing Centre.

Carys Fisher

Carys is a qualified architect demonstrating experience predominantly in the education and healthcare sectors. Her broad skill base means she is a key asset to any design team throughout the project lifecycle. In Education, Carys is familiar with the aspirations of primary and secondary schools, as well as FE Colleges and Universities. She has effectively led and supported on the delivery of EFA funded projects by developing excellent consultant, stakeholder and client relationships. Following the completion of the academic paper and acclaimed HEAD Study (Holistic Evidence And Design) carried out by Professor Peter Barrett, Carys has played a leading role in developing the practical application of this research through IBI TH!NK, our in-house research & development team, culminating in the ‘Clever Classroom’ optimised design and the ‘School Assessment Toolkit’. She has been an active member of the Constructing Excellence in Wales working group, which has been instrumental in developing the 21st Century Schools Post Occupancy Evaluation process entitled ‘Brighter Spaces, Engaging Schools’.

Chris Pickup

Chris has many years of experience across a broad spectrum of sectors at IBI Group, including education, healthcare, private housing, urban design, masterplanning and 3D visualisation. Chris has a role as leader, designer and deliverer of key projects within IBI Group, particularly education schemes, and is the studio sector lead for Schools in the UK.

Chris has strong interests in the design process and currently leads the UK Design Excellence agenda, having been instrumental in establishing and maintaining a successful design review process at IBI Group. He is highly adept at communicating concepts and turning these ideas into a deliverable reality.

Geoff Southern

Geoff is responsible for leading the design of residential and mixed-use schemes in the UK (London & SE). Being dual-qualified, Geoff brings experience in architecture and landscape, especially as a contributor to place-making. With a passion for design excellence, he specialises in early-stage conceptual design, working with clients and stakeholders to transform an initial brief into feasible and implementable design options, then taking these projects on to planning, maximising development value. Alongside this he also contributes commercial experience and expertise in delivery, managing programmes to budget whilst delivering best value.

Geoff has worked on developments worth £1b+ in value. Working with some of the largest developers in the UK, his knowledge of private apartments through to social housing has provided him with best practice knowledge in this sector, yet has also delivered award-winning libraries, schools and healthcare buildings.

Lynn Lindley

Lynn is the UK Interior Designer Lead and studio Associate with a wealth of design experience, principally in healthcare and education. She has extensive knowledge designing specialist interiors, specifically within the field of mental health, senior care and dementia.

With a profound understanding of the psychological and emotional impact colour, texture and light can have on our health and wellbeing, Lynn strives to produce dynamic, supportive and therapeutic environments that provide optimal levels of therapy, care, and treatment.

Working closely with the client group, she is highly skilled at communicating ideas and providing inspiration and innovation through design workshops and user meetings. Lynn is experienced in developing effective art and wayfinding strategies, and producing signage design and brand identity as an intrinsic part of the design proposal.

Passionate about research and innovation, Lynn collaborates with industry experts to improve and develop new products and design solutions resulting in a number of award-winning interiors. She has contributed to publications and presented at conferences on designing for dementia.

David Salton

David is a Senior Consultant based in IBI’s Glasgow office with considerable project management and consultancy experience. In a career spanning over 20 years, David has worked in both technology and transport planning fields. Since joining IBI he has played a lead role on our work with Transport Scotland, where he is now the project manager for the major Traffic Scotland Systems Contract Framework, one of IBI’s largest projects in the UK. This contract covers the development and operation of a number of systems critical to the management of the strategic road network and related functions, as well as other consulting services.

In addition to the project manager role, David continues to lead on specific projects delivered under the Framework, including Scotland’s new National Traffic Data System. This is a significant development for Transport Scotland and has been a complex project which has required a range of skills: engagement and coordination with a wide range of stakeholders; technical ability in respect to system requirements and design; management of the client with the introduction of new processes and procedures; and overseeing the implementation and launch. David holds an Honours degree in Computer Science, a Masters in Transport Planning and Engineering, and is PRINCE2 certified. He is also accredited in Software Testing.

Wendy Atkinson

Wendy is a recognised expert in the development and implementation of operational procedures for highway network management. Prior to joining IBI Group, she worked for Gloucestershire Police, supervising two control rooms, and for Highways England’s Traffic Officer Service, managing incidents both on the network and from the Regional Control Centre. She managed Highways England’s National Occupational Standards Programme, which she also developed into a formal Traffic Management Diploma, accredited by City and Guilds.

Since joining IBI Group in 2010, Wendy has advised clients such as Glasgow City Council and the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO), as well as continuing her role as technical advisor to Highways England. She has provided specialist support to Smart Motorway operations and led projects including the Stationary Vehicle Detection Trial and the development of Smart Motorway Driver Information Requirements. Wendy currently coordinates IBI’s work to enhance Highways England’s signalling policy and capability. She is integral to expanding the firm’s services to other highway network managers across the UK and to the emergency services.
