A guiding force for future transit operations
The North County Land Use and Transit Integration Study is a high-level transit study that aims to gain a thorough understanding of transit patterns and needs within NCTD’s service area. The goal of the study is to guide future transit operation improvements within the NCTD to provide:
- equitable access to transit;
- increased multi-modal transportation choices for local and regional travel; and
- innovative service delivery strategies to best meet the needs of the area’s diverse population.
The efforts from this study will serve as a guide for local agencies to increase consideration of transit access for key developments, such as affordable housing, high-density/mixed-use developments and employment centers. The recommendations identified in the final plan will be further analyzed in NCTD’s future projects, including another IBI project, the Strategic Multimodal Transit Implementation Plan.
