Marcus leads IBI’s masterplanning team in the South-East of England, bringing over 30 years’ experience in mixed-use development for both public- and private-sector clients.
Marcus works across IBI’s sectors, combining our expertise in health, education and technology into a distinctive approach to placemaking. He has provided advice to NHS England for their Healthy New Town programme, and led projects that link place quality with innovation, including the Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District, and Lancaster University’s Health Innovation Campus.
Marcus’ regeneration plan for Barnsley won the 2016 Masterplanner of the Year Award, and he is currently advising Southend Council on procurement of a development partner for a major regeneration project.
International projects include a master plan for Orléans, a university campus in Qijianga, China, and a new township in Pune, India. Marcus is currently working on a series of pilot projects for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
