John Perks is designated by PEO as a Consulting Engineer (Ontario) and holds a Masters degree in Business Administration. He has over 25 years of experience as a project manager and senior engineer for a diversity of transportation and municipal projects involving feasibility studies, Class Environmental Assessments, functional, preliminary and final designs, contract preparation, and construction administration and inspection. His project work includes both new and reconstruction of existing civil infrastructure. This broad experience across many municipalities has provided John with the ability to large, manage multidisciplinary projects and understand the complexities of public, political, approval agency and municipal pressures and requirements on a project. John is also one of the few Region of Waterloo approved acoustical engineers and has completed the MOE noise assessment course as well as numerous seminars with expertise acoustical studies for both road and rail transportation, and stationary noise sources.

A recent effort has been the new Hockinson Middle School, an innovative public school in Southwestern Washington. He worked collaboratively with the contractor to bring it to completion, while being an advocate for key design concepts. Mat takes great care in all facets of the design process, applying a critical eye throughout every stage of a project. He is a valuable member of any team, willing to handle any task asked of him in order to adhere to project schedule and budget without compromising on design quality and intent. Providing clients with a final product that satisfies and exceeds their vision is what inspires Mat. He was a key player in the modernization projects for North Santiam School District that involved upgrades to existing schools, and is project architect for Tigard-Tualatin School District’s Twality Middle School.

Danielle Sernoskie is an Architect with the Transit Architecture Team at IBI Group and is currently the Architectural Project Manager for the three underground stations of the Ottawa LRT – Confederation Line. Danielle joined IBI Group by way of SGA in 2012 after completing degrees in Architecture at Ryerson University (B.Arch.Sci.) and the University of Toronto (M.Arch). Prior to joining IBI Group she gained experience at a variety of design firms in Toronto as well as in Ireland and Slovakia – working on projects that range from entertainment, commercial and institutional to residential. During her last six and a half years with IBI Group, Danielle has almost exclusively been involved with the OLRT project beginning with the Pursuit Phase and continuing through the Design Development Phase and, now, Construction Phase. Outside of project work, she is responsible for the hiring and mentoring of co-op students for the Transit Architecture Team, is an active member of STRIVE and is always seeking new opportunities to get involved in business development.
